Sophia Gowns Bridal Shop in Warminster, Wiltshire are a small mother and daughter team who design and make wedding gowns in both vintage wedding dress and modern wedding dress styles.
Sophia Gowns take our influence from both theatrical to historical and specialise in corseted bridal wear, which gives the wearer that perfect hourglass shape. Bridal Corsets, if made to measure, are surprisingly comfortable and can take inches off of your waist - they also have the added advantage of being loosened for that all important dancing! Each dress we make is a ‘one off’, the wearer knowing that her dress is that extra bit special, and we work with the bride to design the dress of her dreams.
Each bespoke wedding gown is hand-fashioned with the utmost care. Your wedding gown is an original creation making it that extra bit special. All of our bridal gowns are made at our family home in the historic market town of Warminster, Wiltshire.
Initially, we discuss your thoughts on style, colour schemes, and themes giving us the opportunity to form ideas and ensure that your vision of the perfect wedding gown will be realised. For inspiration there is always the time to try on sample wedding gowns and look through our portfolio of designs. There is a wide choice of colours and fabrics to choose from and I will help you to choose the fabric which will suit both you and your dress.
Using your personal measurements, a practise garment is prepared, this enables me to ensure a perfect fit and also allows you the opportunity to see how your gown will look in terms of style. Once we are both happy I will begin to create your dress using the chosen fabric. The number of practise garment fittings and gown fittings vary with each client, and generally, last one hour each. I am always available via telephone or e-mail if you have any questions regarding your wedding gown.
After your initial inquiry, I usually require a booking at least six months prior to the gown being needed as I generally make one dress a month, but it is always worth contacting me to see if you can be squeezed in.
