Sophia Gowns Bridal Shop in Warminster, Wiltshire are a small mother and daughter team who design and make wedding gowns in both vintage wedding dress and modern wedding dress styles.

Sophia Gowns take our influence from both theatrical to historical and specialise in corseted bridal wear, which gives the wearer that perfect hourglass shape. Bridal Corsets, if made to measure, are surprisingly comfortable and can take inches off of your waist - they also have the added advantage of being loosened for that all important dancing! Each dress we make is a ‘one off’, the wearer knowing that her dress is that extra bit special, and we work with the bride to design the dress of her dreams.

Each bespoke wedding gown is hand-fashioned with the utmost care. Your wedding gown is an original creation making it that extra bit special. All of our bridal gowns are made at our family home in the historic market town of Warminster, Wiltshire.

Initially, we discuss your thoughts on style, colour schemes, and themes giving us the opportunity to form ideas and ensure that your vision of the perfect wedding gown will be realised. For inspiration there is always the time to try on sample wedding gowns and look through our portfolio of designs. There is a wide choice of colours and fabrics to choose from and I will help you to choose the fabric which will suit both you and your dress.

Using your personal measurements, a practise garment is prepared, this enables me to ensure a perfect fit and also allows you the opportunity to see how your gown will look in terms of style. Once we are both happy I will begin to create your dress using the chosen fabric. The number of practise garment fittings and gown fittings vary with each client, and generally, last one hour each. I am always available via telephone or e-mail if you have any questions regarding your wedding gown.

After your initial inquiry, I usually require a booking at least six months prior to the gown being needed as I generally make one dress a month, but it is always worth contacting me to see if you can be squeezed in.

Each bespoke bridal gown is hand-fashioned with the utmost care. Your wedding gown is an original creation making it that extra bit special. Our prices start at £600

These dresses take 16 weeks to order so please start looking well in advance if you know you are going to a function. We do have a small selection of off-the peg dresses too.

At Cinders you will also find a beautiful selection of veils, shoes, tiaras, fascinators, feathers, and bridal jewellery to complete your chosen outfit.

To complete every bridal outfit you will be looking for just the right Headdress or Tiara. We have an extensive range of Headdresses and Tiaras from Pearls and Crystals to Feathers and Hats. We also stock a selection of crystal jewellery to complement the bridal outfit.

Veils – We supply a wide range of Veils and tiaras and are finding our made to order service is popular.

Complete Bespoke service – if when you have tried on a few of the gowns you cannot find what you are looking for, we are able to assist you in designing your own gown that will be as individual as you are. We are able to make it for you too.

We can also make bridesmaids gowns, ties, cravats, waistcoats, mother of the bride/groom outfits, absolutely anything you may need that requires making up.

Teri is an accomplished dressmaker (over 20 years experience) holding City & Guilds certificates in pattern cutting, bra making and Corsetry. We also have other dressmakers and craftspeople who excel in their field - If you need it we can probably get it done for you.
